Children Of The Universe
General overview for July 2005.
This month of July has eight very helpful planetary alignments and seven to challenge us yet again.
This month I feel is the beginning of the realisation that we are just children of the Universe. We are just visitors here, we do not own the Earth, it is just our temporary accommodation for this lifetime only. We may sometimes feel as though the planetary alignments are throwing spanners in the works of our lives, but in reality it is just that we are not always as evolved as we would like to think we are. It is not always easy to handle the negative energies of the Cosmos, however we will become much wiser by the lessons that are presented to us if we meet them from a mature perspective. Going with the flow is much easier when the favourable alignments are active, guaranteeing success to our endeavours. As there are more positive than negative alignments this month, we can readily achieve our goals. However we will also be challenged to maintain our equilibrium when the moment gets stressful. Everything in life depends on our own personal perspective and understanding of where we are on our own unique journey.
Once again, below, I have listed all the dates in 2005 where some of the planets change direction. Each month I will look at how this can manifest in our lives according to which planet is changing sign and/or direction.
27 March 2005 Pluto turned retrograde for 5 months and will remain in that phase up until 2 September 2005.
19 May Neptune went retrograde for 5 months and will remain in that phase up until 25 October 2005
14 June Uranus turned retrograde for 5 months and will remain in that phase up until 15 November 2005.
16 July Saturn enters Leo and will remain in this sign up until 2 September 2007.
23 July Mercury turns retrograde for 3 weeks and will remain in that phase up until 15 August.
16 August Mercury turns direct.
02 September Pluto turns direct.
01 October Mars turns retrograde for over 2 months and will remain in that phase up until 9 December 2005.
14 November Mercury turns retrograde for 3 weeks and will remain in that phase until 3 December 2005.
15 November Uranus goes direct.
22 November Saturn turns retrograde for over 4 months and will remain in that phase up until 4 May 2006.
04 December Mercury goes direct.
10 December Mars goes direct.
Pluto is still retrograde and will remain in that phase up until 2 September 2005. Pluto is the transformer of the zodiac, and will literally turn your life around when making alignments to your own personal planets. However, when in retrograde phase it allows you the opportunity, once again to re-assess you current motives, your passions, your intimate relationships and your attitude towards, life, death, and even sex to decide if what you have chosen in recent times is for your overall good and development. Personally I prefer it when Pluto is in direct motion, but as I have said before, we can’t always have the planets where we want them or going in the direction we may prefer. Utilise this time to delve into your subconscious, go exploring your deepest psyche and uncover elements that you thought were hidden, even from yourself, and analyse them as if your life depended on it. The revelations you may experience may literally wipe your current slate clean and allow you to pursue your goals with absolute freedom when Pluto resumes direct motion in September 2005. Pluto will remain in Sagittarius until 27 November 2008. It will retrograde back into Sagittarius for five months starting in July 2008 and then re-enter Capricorn in late November 2008.
There will be a New Moon at 14 degrees of Cancer on Wednesday 6 July. For those who have personal planets at this degree, this day may prove to be a major turning point in your life. This is a time of new beginnings, especially relating to home and family matters.
Saturn enters Leo on Saturday 16 July and will remain in that sign up until 2 September 2007. As Leo is associated with the entertainment industry, and royalty amongst other things, I feel there may be some serious issues arise in connection with these areas. Gold may also plummet in price, as Saturn tends to diminish or restrict. There may also be a tendency for some people to suffer from the Tall Poppy syndrome, where they are brought down a peg or two. Those who hold themselves in high regard may actually undo themselves in some way, due to the negative karma they have built around themselves in the past seven years or so. Leo is also the sign associated with children. We may notice that there is more emphasis on the education and disciplining of children and the duties and obligations that parents need to instill into these young minds. Also possible is that there will be a focus on who is really responsible for the children of the world, and what should we be doing to protect their welfare. More effort may be made to ensure that the protection of children is of the highest priority of us as adults. We may also become increasingly fearful for the future of our children, in terms of their happiness, protection and security.
There will be a Full Moon on Thursday 21 July with the Sun in Cancer and the Moon in Capricorn. There could be some clashes of opinion regarding cultural and traditional views around this time. The age gap can also widen and cause barriers when attempting to relate to each other successfully. There may be some insensitivity to the matters the community wish to bring to the attention of people in high places.
On Saturday 23 July the life-giving Sun will enter its own sign of Leo for a stay of one calendar month. This can put the spotlight on gold shares, entertainment, parties and big celebratory events involving showbiz and lots of glamorously dressed people out strutting their stuff. Not the time to hide your light under a bushel, but rather put your best threads on and show the world your real talents. Someone in power may become hugely popular during this month long phase and there may also be some spotlight shining more brightly on one of the Royal family. Having fun and enjoying oneself may be the tune during this time.
Also today Venus will enter Virgo for a stay of 26 days (three and a half weeks) up until 16 August. During this time, we may notice that health issues are of more importance to some, especially matters involving hygiene and cleanliness. This would be a good time to start a cookery course, especially one that may lead to an income as a chef or restaurant owner. Some people can become quite materialist during this time and put this ahead of their love lives. It is likely that there can be a slump period for weddings, as people become more fussy about what they want, or do not want, in relationships.
Also today, Mercury will turn retrograde at 20 degrees of Leo and remain in that phase until 16 August. I will quote again from previous articles how we mere mortals are influenced by this phenomena. (See my feature article on my website for an in-depth comment on this). However briefly, it is a time when people seem to go into an indecisive mode, or they make a decision and then renege on it at a later time. For some though this can be a good period for mental reflection and deep thought to understand what it is that you truly want to do. Often writers are highly productive during this time and some people are able to get lots of paper work done. Some have to re-trace their steps, or send that fax twice, as there are glitches and hitches that can get in the way of clear communications. This is not the time to make major decisions if you can help it. As this influence will last approximately 24 days, it can interfere with plans and arrangements, such as to do with travel, tickets, and time schedules. If you travel to a particular destination during this time, you may later go there again in the future. This can be one of the most rewarding times to reflect on your thoughts, go over any previously laid plans and reassess whether it is exactly what you had in mind. You do not need to actually set things in motion at this time, just do the planning and preparation ready for when Mercury goes direct, which will be on 16 August 2005. So check the documents three times, allow for alterations to arise, and then check it all once more for accuracy. However, if you do need to leave a loophole open for further possible changes, then this may actually prove to be a fortunate time to commence a project where there will be no objection to changes you wish to make at a later time.
On Thursday 28 July Mars will enter Taurus and remain in that sign up until 18 February 2006. This is a prolonged stay for Mars, due to the fact that he will turn retrograde in October and stay in that phase up until 9 December. If you want to get a lot of hard work done, go to it, especially anything that involves great stamina, for you will be able to sustain the duration or the job.
Uranus is still retrograde in the sign of Pisces and will remain that way up until 15 November 2005. Uranus is the inventor and the discoverer of places beyond our imagination. We may try to re-discover how we can tap into our own unique imagination and realise our true potential and capabilities. We may have denied some of the things that could be and now we may investigate and discover what really is possible.
For horary enthusiasts, continuing all month we still observe Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces indicating that they are still in mutual reception.
Now down to the specifics of daily planetary activity.
The favourable days in July 2005 are:
Saturday 2 July: Sun trine Uranus. This is a very electrical kind of day and one that can bring enormous excitement into people’s lives. Be prepared for the unexpected and the unusual and you will not be disappointed. A great day to go exploring, visit a place you have never been to before, start a new and exciting job or business, especially if it is connected to electronics, the Internet or aviation. Some people will come up with some potentially revolutionary ideas today and inventors will be inspired to bring something new and dazzling to the rest of us. New friendships started today will be very different to what you are used to and could literally turn your life around.
Wednesday 6 July. Mercury sextile Jupiter. This angle promises those who strive to see the bigger picture will do so and teach those who listen how to find it themselves. A great day to start a holiday or travel to places previously unseen. This could prove to be a great day to start writing a new book, open a book store or one associated with the travel industry. People will generally tend to be liberal and broad-minded in their thinking and approach to life. Also a favourable day to start teaching, lecturing or writing a lengthy project. The area of communications and information will be busy and any business started today that connects with these will fare well. This is a good time for negotiations and for getting your message across. The advertising and news media areas will be highly productive. There could be a merger between two large organisations, companies or countries, that can benefit everyone involved. Expansion is the key-word for the day, so plan to make this as positive a time as possible. A busy day for the travel industry and the Internet.
Thursday 7 July: Venus sextile Jupiter. This is a brilliant day for getting engaged, married or starting a new romance or friendship. Also good for opening a new business, especially if it is connected to women’s products, entertainment, the travel industry or foreign relations. Throwing a lavish party will also meet with success, though could be very costly. Starting a long distance journey, voyage or holiday could put you on a new learning curve and would be highly enjoyable and may result in a new love interest in your life, if you are single and fancy free.
Also today Mars sextile Neptune. This one is brilliant for putting your head together with another for inspiration. As Mars rules the head and Neptune rules the imagination, much can be gained by taking some time out to receive some insight into a situation you had been trying to fathom. Energy directed positively and with great clarity will bring many rewards. This would be a favourable time to put your idealistic intentions into action. This alignment can be used positively by those who are wise, and on a personal level, if we wish to tune into the Cosmos today, some of us may be witness to some amazing revelations on how we can all live in unity and where our future is heading on a spiritual level. Some will be given the gift of great clarity of vision and be able to tap into the medium of success, or their definition of it.
Saturday 9 July: Mercury conjunct Venus. (This aspect occurred on 28 June and is repeated here due to the fact that Mercury is slowing down). This tends to incline people towards thoughts of love, harmony and peace. Some will write lengthy declarations of their feelings for the one they adore. Peaceful negotiations are highly likely for those who have the best interests of everyone at heart. A good day to have a celebration, throw a party, go on a special date, get engaged or married. Businesses focussing on communications and the elements of romance will fare well, such as greeting cards offering words of love and friendship. A day of love and poetry and light hearted fun and frivolity. Take time out today to enjoy some lovely music or pleasant scenery and you will be aligning your actions in accord with the romantic and peaceful vibrations of the heavens. Romantic attachments and friendships formed today will be free of jealousy or binding commitments. People will want to be carefree and concerned only with happiness and pleasure.
Saturday 12 July: Mars trine Pluto. A great day to open a gym or get involved in any business or project with the aim of improvement or transformation. A good day to start some home renovations as the energy and ideas will be there. Also a good time to buy a new car, start your own mechanical engineering business or car retailing, or car repair shop. Physical energy will be in abundance so if you want to flex the muscles and enter a marathon run, then go to it.
Sunday 17 July: Venus trine Pluto. This is a magnificent combination and can produce a great day for those seeking true love. I adore this kind of planetary formation. If you should happen to meet a new lover under this influence you will be radically changed overnight. This new person will seem magnetic and passionate. You may feel you have been put under a spell, and in a way you are right. This influence is deep, hypnotic and highly sexual, so expect to go into a relationship and become totally and intimately involved, and very quickly too. Also a good day to get married, start a new business enterprise especially if it involves regeneration themes, getting fit or to do with women’s products and services.
Monday 18 July. Venus trine Mars. Those in the business of selling will have a field day if they use the methods of ‘sex sells’ at this time. The seductive elements between these planets can be wielded on an innocent public who will actually lap it up like a pussycat with a bowl of milk. A good day to get married, engaged, go on a first date or start a business involved in capturing the imagination of those who are interested in what attracts one to another. Items such as perfumes and aftershaves will sell well today, or any other item that lures people to one another.
The not so favourable days in July 2005 are:
Saturday 2 July: Sun square Jupiter. Not the kind of day to make promises that you later may find hard to keep. So don’t try to talk or discuss philosophical issues with those in positions of power or associated with the legal sector of society. Some human rights may be violated on a day like this. Not the kind of day to be caught up in a big crowd as things can get out of hand and problems arise to do with large gatherings of people, especially near big buildings or law courts. Do not start any new business venture unless you have a lot of capital to back you up when things don’t pan out as much, or as soon as, you had hoped for. I also would not recommend getting married as it may prove to be a heavy burden involving more than you can safely or adequately handle.
Tuesday 12 July: Venus opposition Neptune. This unhelpful alignment may lure some people who are planning to mix business with pleasure and this brings about disappointment, loss or other confusion due to outright deception or serious camouflage. It is not the time to commit to a relationship or even a friendship, for there is likely to be something glossed over that hides the real truth or some elementary ugliness. An apparent secure relationship may come unstuck and reveal a trail of dishonesty, treachery and lies. Those who live life on the surface and pretend to be happy will be faced with having to show their dirty washing and even then, there may still be something lurking in their pockets. Check all your facts and any new faces you meet today.
Wednesday 13 July: Sun square Mars. Not a day to speed down the highway ignorant of other drivers on the road. Not a good day to travel and, in particular, in any vehicle that will take risks or go too fast. Not a day to even go on a risky amusement park ride as something may just go wrong. This is an accident prone day so do not buy a new car or other machinery, or attempt to cross the road when there is lots of traffic. Some people will go off half cocked and end up red faced if they try stepping on other people’s toes unnecessarily. Someone in power may have some difficult problems to deal with that arises suddenly and has to be resolved without blinking. People will not be patient or feel like waiting around on a day like this. Definitely not a good day to start any new friendship, romance or get married or go into a business partnership.
Also today: Mercury opposition Neptune. This is one of those potentially deceitful days when people can easily colour over their mistakes and present a picture that is marred inside and out, if you would only lift the veil of elusion to view the ugly and distorted truth. It is wise not to sign any important documents on a day like this as there will be more loopholes than found in a fish-net. Those who generally tend to give people the benefit of the doubt will prove to be the most vulnerable. Do not believe all you read or hear today as there will be lies and deception running rampant.
Sunday 24 July: Sun conjunct Saturn. There are potential limitations imposed by this angle. This influence is not conducive to asking for a raise, getting married, taking on a new job, starting a new business or even going for an interview. Chances are there will be problems, delays, restrictions or other depressing conditions to cope with if you try to tackle difficult problems on a day like this. No new ventures should be decided upon or started to avoid problems that could last for many years to come. This can be a disappointing day if you plan to make any significant personal decision that affects your well being and your future plans. This can have long-term ramifications so choose wisely. Not the day to approach the boss for a raise, as people in power are prone to be unreachable. There can be barriers or walls to challenge those who try to make peaceful negotiations, so refrain from these today where possible. An elderly person or a VIP may be in the news and showing concern for their safety or position. Someone in power or politics or royalty may lose their status or standing in the community.
Sunday 31 July: Venus opposition Uranus. This can throw a spanner in the works or a curve ball your way that you were not anticipating. As this is a not so favourable influence for starting new friendships, relationships of getting married, I would wait for a more opportune blending of heavenly star patterns. If unions are commenced today they may be brief or the person leaves very abruptly with almost no warning. Those who choose today to marry may find themselves in the divorce courts before too long. It is an OK time to have a masquerade party or other social event where people are permitted to let their hair down and be as wild as they wish. Just don’t expect new liaisons to be long-term, nor get involved in financial affairs that have the slightest suggestion of risk.
Also today, at midnight in Sydney, Australia time, Mars will square Saturn. We have this harsh angle between Mars the God of War and sombre Saturn. Not a day to start a new business or new friendship or romantic involvement, nor get married or buy a car or other important machinery for your business. Not the day either to invest money or get involved in foreign affairs or overseas interests. Bide your time in all important matters and do not buy a new home today.
