General overview for December 2009.
This is going to be quite a progressive month in many ways. Well for starters there are no planets in retrograde motion between 1 December and 19 December. Woohoo! This is such a positive indication that we can enjoy our lives with little interference from conflicting heavenly changes. Life can pan out a little easier and we can make our personal choices with confidence that we are on the right track. Whilst there is a more or less even balance of positive and not so positive alignments, the fact that for 19 days we have no planets in retrograde motion is indicative of a smooth flow of action in the vaqrious departments of our life. So take some time out to smell the roses, as they say, and perhaps dream a little dream of your own for the future.
Throughout December there are a total of 16 aspects with 10 favourable ones, compared to 9 not so helpful ones.
In chronological order the changes in the heavens this month will be: a Full Moon on 2 December; Uranus also turns direct today ; and Venus enters Sagittarius; Mercury enters Capricorn on 6 December; there will be a New Moon on 16 December; Mars turns retrograde on 20 December; the Sun enters Capricorn on 22 December; Venus enters Capricorn on 26 December; Mercury turns retrograde on 27 December.
There will be a Full Moon on 2 December with the Sun at 10 degrees Sagittarius and the Moon at 10 degrees of Gemini. This can lead to lots of debates and discussions where there are totally different opinions being expressed. Try to avoid getting caught up in senseless chattering and communications that will only leave you breathless.
Also today, Uranus turns direct at nearly 23 degrees of Pisces and this can be useful for all those astrologers out there, the aviation, radio and television industries, and any new technological advances that have been waiting in the wings to get their launch out into the big wide world. Businesses that run along these lines can now push ahead with confidence that smooth sailing is once again obtainable. NASA may have more luck with their projects into outer space. Those amongst us who are generally highly intuitive, may get super flashes of insight and be able to just ‘know’ which is the right way to turn or the best place to be at the most perfect time.
Also today, Venus enters Sagittarius and remains in this sign up until 26 December. This I feel will give some hope towards some peaceful negotiations between some countries, if the energies are maneuvered and/or desired in this direction. There could be some relationships in the news and weddings occurring between people of different nationalities. I feel that some may travel long distances to be with those they love.
Mercury enters Capricorn on 6 December and remains in this sign up until 11 February 2010. This can bring serious matters up for discussion, especially those involving conservative business industries and those that have been around a long time. Matters associated with the funeral industry may be under investigation for some reason and the real estate business may see some pressure to bring prices down. Overseas and foreign relations can also be strained and differences of opinion arise that show the things that divide rather than those that unify. However, this energy can be applied positively and used for serious study or dedication to a task until it is finished.
There will be a New Moon on 16 December with both the Sun and Moon at 24 degrees of Sagittarius. Some people will tend to identify emotionally with their beliefs and opinions, which may come out inappropriately, if people are not careful.
Mars turns retrograde on 20 December and remains in this phase up until 10 March 2010. Mars can indicate high energy when moving forward. However during the next few months some may find it more than usually difficult to direct their energies in the manner they wish or they are held back and unable to demonstrate their strength and abilities in a natural way. Anger may build into resentment and some people may inadvertently become their own worst enemy if they are unable to harness the energies adequately. Explosive outbursts may occur at the wrong time and amongst the worst types of people and their scenarios. The automotive industry may be sluggish during this time.
The Sun enters Capricorn on 22 December and remains in this sign up until 19 January 2010. This will bring traditional and conservative matters into the forefront of our lives, celebrating the Festive Season is a typical example of that. General business matters will flourish as we go shopping as if there is no tomorrow. We also become more family orientated and do what is considered the norm. I suspect there may be a VIP, or a member of parliament, who experiences some health concern, and in particular, perhaps one of the members of the British Royal family may undergo some crisis or there is a separation of some type associated with one or more members of this family.
Venus enters Capricorn on 26 December and remains in this sign up until 19 January 2010. This could be a good time to bring some fresh flowers to the office, or do some re-decorating especially anything involving beautiful arrangements, colours, delicate flowing fabrics, drapes or antiques. People of different age groups or nationalities can achieve some harmony if they make the effort during this time.
Mercury turns retrograde on 27 December and remains in this phase up until 15 January 2010. (See my website for an in-depth comment on this). However briefly, it is a time when people seem to go into an indecisive mode, or they make a decision and then renege on it at a later time. For some though this can be a good period for mental reflection and deep thought to understand what it is that you truly want to do. Often writers are highly productive during this time and some people are able to get lots of paper work done. Some have to re-trace their steps, or send that fax twice, as there are glitches and hitches that can get in the way of clear communications. This is not the time to make major decisions if you can help it. As this influence will last approximately 20 days, it can interfere with plans and arrangements, such as to do with travel, tickets, and time schedules. If you travel to a particular destination during this time, you may later go there again in the future. This can be one of the most rewarding times to reflect on your thoughts, go over any previously laid plans and reassess whether it is exactly what you had in mind. You do not need to actually set things in motion at this time, just do the planning and preparation ready for when Mercury goes direct, in about three weeks time. So check the documents three times, allow for alterations to arise, and then check it all once more for accuracy. However, if you do need to leave a loophole open for further possible changes, then this may actually prove to be a fortunate time to commence a project where there will be no objection to changes you wish to make at a later time.
Now down to the specifics of daily planetary activity.
The favourable days in December 2009 are:
Wednesday 2 December: Mercury sextile Neptune. This is a wonderful alignment for us fragile human beings, especially if we wish to tune into the cosmos and see what is really there. This can be a brilliant day to tune in and discover some amazing enlightenment as to our place in the scheme of things. New publications released today will do well, especially if they can incorporate some measure of mystery in their stories. Starting a new book with a focus on the mysteries of the universe, dreams or psychic phenomena will turn out very well. Travel brochures will be eagerly snapped up today and bookings made for overseas destinations with great enthusiasm. The travel industry will have a busy day moving people from A to B in quick succession.
Friday 4 December: Venus sextile Saturn. This is the type of alignment that suggests a good time for entering into new negotiations, friendships or marriage. Any new business that is involved in the finance industry, or to do with women’s products and services, florists and perfumes will prosper if you can stick it out for the long haul.
Monday 7 December: Mercury conjunct Pluto. This is an aspect that can be interpreted as either positive or negative and the energies can swing either way depending on what it is that you are trying to accomplish. A good day to investigate any matter that you need the answer to. Riddles, puzzles and intrigues can be revealed if you pursue with relentless enthusiasm. Travel undertaken today could revolutionise your life and perhaps give you a new purpose or provide ideas on how you can transform yourself or your surroundings. Police will uncover lies or deception on a day like this and perhaps unearth some bodies, remains or relics that had been missing for years. Archaeologists too may discover some long buried artefacts that will reveal some truths or new knowledge that had been well hidden. Use this day to focus on starting or completing something of immense personal importance to you and you will be amazed at your progress.
Friday 11 December: Sun trine Mars. This is fortunate for those wishing to push their own barrows and get out there to achieve some recognition or fame for their talents. Also a good day to buy a car or other electrical or electronic gadgets or machinery. Any business started that incorporates any of these items would be started under promising star patterns. A gym opened today will attract a large following as would an automotive repair shop or other mechanical enterprise. Someone in the sporting or athletic industry may be seen to achieve a new record or be in the news celebrating their victory.
Tuesday 15 December: Sun sextile Jupiter. This is a beautiful alignment that can provide us with the inspiration and faith to get any new endeavour under way with enthusiasm and sincerity of purpose. Open an entertainment centre or have a huge banquet or festival today and it will go off like a rocket to the Moon. This is also a good day to get married, start new friendships and any project involved with gold, glamour or places of amusement or the publishing industry. It is also one of the better kind of planetary times to commence just about anything that is important to you. A new store or business opening today would do well if focussed on books, publishing, the travel industry or to do with the law. If you strive for success on a day like this you are likely to achieve your goal. This is also a good time to start an overseas holiday.
Wednesday 16 December: Sun sextile Neptune. This is one of those days that will seem magical to those who are open and attuned to the cosmic vibrations around them. A positively inspiring day and one that will be long remembered as a day that brings the beautiful side of nature and life to our attention and the recognition that there are great wonders all around us, each and every day, if we just open our eyes and senses. Spend some time relaxing near the ocean and it will soothe your tired or restless soul. Music will be inspirational and those who are gifted in this area may create some magical lyrics or tunes. Opening a store selling musical or artistic products should fare well.
Thursday 17 December: Venus trine Mars. Venus gets up close and personal with Mars. Those in the business of selling will have a field day if they use the methods of ‘sex sells’ at this time. The seductive elements between these planets can be wielded on an innocent public who will actually lap it up like a pussycat with a bowl of milk. A good day to get married, engaged, go on a first date or start a business involved in capturing the imagination of those who are interested in what attracts one to another. Items such as perfumes and aftershaves will sell well today, or any other item that lures people to one another.
Monday 21 December: Venus sextile Jupiter. This is a brilliant day for getting engaged, married or starting a new romance or friendship. Also good for opening a new business, especially if it is connected to women’s products, entertainment, the travel industry or foreign relations. Throwing a lavish party will also meet with success, though could be very costly. Starting a long distance journey, voyage or holiday could put you on a new learning curve and would be highly enjoyable and may result in a new love interest in your life, if you are single and fancy free.
Also today, Venus sextile Neptune. This is just wonderful for a first date, getting engaged or married or throwing a huge party or other social gathering. If you utilise the themes of the ocean, romantic or magical effects, the outcome will be truly fascinating for all those who participate. Musicians, artists and poets will be in their element with their thoughts and imagination flowing freely and inspired by the mystical aspects of the Universe. A good day to open a business focussing on the elements of beauty, flowers, crystals, perfumes and women’s products. This could be a heavenly day. Some people may be lucky enough to find their soul-mate. This is a magical time and will colour over all misgivings and produce a haze of wonder and delight that will leave you gasping. New friendships or romances commenced today seem idyllic and will restore your faith in humanity. People generally will appear to be more caring and compassionate. A day when everything looks beautiful and inspirational. An ocean journey would be quite pleasurable to the senses or any other similar beautiful scenic location. A wisp of magical stardust will drift down from the heavens and gloss over today, inclining some romantic types to fall in love. The Sun will rise before you even had the chance to put out the candle lights.
Also today, Jupiter conjunct Neptune (repeated from 28 May 2009). This is a wonderful pattern and can be productive of great works, especially those that are done with no thought of reward for oneself. We can lift ourselves to a higher vibration and see through the mysteries of the world, and observe the potential idealism and goodness that can come from being truly humanitarian and compassionate to those who are not as well off as some of us. We may be witness to some possible breakthroughs in our understanding and humanitarianism that can benefit mankind in ways we had not yet thought of. Some people may make generous donations to charities or other institutions, but whether this information is given to the public remains to be seen. Some will want to hide or camouflage their generosity and we should be humble enough to accept that. Choose this favourable day for pursuing not just the things that can benefit others, but also to get in touch with our own selves and perhaps transform some very personal relationships. The artist, musician or poet may be truly inspired and produce great works that will touch the soul of those who share in these magical moments.
The not so favourable days in December 2009 are:
Tuesday 1 December: Mercury square Uranus. A buzzing and electrically charged day so plan your agenda with plenty of room to maneuver when the interruptions come in. Many will find themselves mentally exhausted after a day like this and the long hot bath at the end of the day will be truly welcomed before retiring to bed. Some will just thrive though, receiving flashes like bolts of lightening entering their brainwaves. Some will come up with the most amazing insights and new inventions. Keep a pen and paper handy or a tape recorder for all those great ideas to make note of before they get lost in cyberspace. The Internet will go into overdrive too and your inbox could overflow or get blocked in some way due to over use. Plans and travel arrangement can run amok so be prepared and have an alternative route to follow. Accidents will happen for those who are unprepared for changes as they arise. Not the day to buy a computer or any other electrical item. Steer clear of potential hazards such as frayed electrical cords etc. Young people are more at risk than the elderly.
Tuesday 8 December: Mercury square Saturn. This is not the day to make agreements as they may involve regulations and obligations that tie you up in knots. There could be some serious decisions made that affect people long after the present. The Mercurial influence could be darkened by sombre Saturn’s habit of making it difficult to see eye to eye and reach amicable agreements about any of these matters. However, those who are wise can instruct those who are not. Those who refuse to take a wider view will only alienate themselves from a comfortable position and find themselves on the other side of the wall. This though can be a good day for serious study. It is not good for purchasing land or other real estate. If you do, then make sure there are no potential problems to do with dampness or rising water levels in the area.
Tuesday 15 December: Sun square Uranus. Don’t count on things going as planned today, for every little hiccup can magnify and throw your life into chaos. Air travel may be disrupted or exceptionally busy and mistakes are likely to occur that interfere with the way you had wanted things to go. Have a plan B ready as more than likely you will need it. Sudden, unexpected events can occur quite rapidly and prevent an easy flow of ideas and plans. Avoid rebellious people and eccentrics as they can play havoc with your routines or your way of life. Someone in power may have their status changed or they suffer an unexpected fall.
Sunday 20 December: Venus square Uranus. This can throw a spanner in the works or a curve ball your way that you were not anticipating. As this is a not so favourable influence for starting new friendships, relationships of getting married, I would wait for a more opportune blending of heavenly star patterns. If unions are commenced today they may be brief or the person leaves very abruptly with almost no warning. Those who choose today to marry may find themselves in the divorce courts before too long. It is an OK time to have a masquerade party or other social event where people are permitted to let their hair down and be as wild as they wish. Just don’t expect new liaisons to be long-term, nor get involved in financial affairs that have the slightest suggestion of risk.
Friday 25 December: Sun conjunct Pluto. This is a highly volatile and explosive angle that can erupt from out of nowhere and create chaos and ruin for those who take chances with their lives and their safety. A VIP or other person of high standing may take a fall or be held accountable for some misdeed from their past. Any secrets that are buried may be re-surfaced and exposed for all to see. This will be an ugly time for some as the underworld elements of this can be exposed and create unpleasant situations for people to try to extract themselves from. Not a good day to buy a car, go into business, get married, engaged or start a new job, friendship or other personal decisions that can reflect on oneself at a later time. Be careful who you associate with and do not trust strangers. Alleyways and dark places should be avoided like the plague.
Saturday 26 December: Sun square Saturn. This alignment turns the attention to practical and realistic matters which may seem onerous right now. Someone in power may suffer some defeat or loss. I tend to consider this alignment as a not so helpful vibration, unless one is very mature and has managed their life successfully to date. This influence is not conducive to asking for a raise, getting married, taking on a new job, starting a new business or even going for an interview. Chances are there will be problems, delays, restrictions or other depressing conditions to cope with if you try to tackle difficult problems on a day like this. No new ventures should be decided upon or started to avoid problems that could last for many years to come. This can be a disappointing day if you plan to make any significant personal decision that affects your well-being and your future plans. This can have long-term ramifications so choose wisely. Not the day to approach the boss for a raise, as people in power are prone to be unreachable. There can be barriers or walls to challenge those who try to make peaceful negotiations, so refrain from these today where possible. An elderly person or a VIP may be in the news and showing concern for their safety or position. Someone in power or politics or royalty may lose their status or standing in the community.
Monday 28 December: Venus conjunct Pluto. Not the best kind of day to start a new romance, friendship, or get engaged or married. Hidden motives or jealousy could set the tone for a disastrous relationship, so avoid those tall dark strangers who surround themselves in mystery and intrigue. Do not trust anyone you meet for the first time, no matter how enticing it may seem. You could get caught in the black widow spider’s web of deceit and corruption. Some people may violate others rights and con them into believing they are onto something wonderful, however the wolf in sheep’s clothing is very near the door. People who harbor grudges will be on every corner so avoid any entanglement that shows any sign whatsoever of someone who is bitter or twisted in any way. However this may be hard to pinpoint, due the deceptive element of this aspect.
Tuesday 29 December: Venus square Saturn. Not a good day to get married, start a new relationship or go on a first date. Any one of these will be productive of delays, limitations or burdens and other difficulties that will be hard to overcome. People will tend to be hard to reach or fathom or understand. Barriers that tend to divide will be more noticeable than usual. Do not start a new business today, especially if it involves women’s products, beauty, music or the arts. Not a good day to try to reach amicable agreements, especially with those near and dear to you. Some will tend to become disappointed in a big way. The air is filled with distance and coldness so don’t attempt to make up with your lover if you have had a fight, as they will not want to hear your plight and may just turn their back and walk the other way. Friendships and new romances will not get off to a good start and may involve heavy responsibilities later on or you find out you have to look after them more than is healthy. Not a good day to start a new business as the setbacks and delays may curtail your freedom and not be worth the effort applied.
