Love And Lust
This month of July has more positive planetary patterns than negative ones so we are going to be able to make far more successful decisions during this time. There are two alignments where the energies can go either way and they are Mercury conjunct Mars and Venus square Jupiter. There are also five minor alignments (quincunxes) that may obstruct our path or create negative energies that may be somewhat difficult to deal with.
This could prove to be a very interesting month in terms of partnerships, and what constitutes sexual attraction, not only because Venus is now moving forward, but also because Venus will be no more than 5 degrees of orb away from a sextile aspect (60 degrees) to sexy Mars. There may be a big focus on relationships and sex appeal during this whole month and including the first 19 days of August. From 19 August they will start to separate from that aspect. They will actually be exact (zero degree orb) twice this month, on Saturday 17 July and again on Tuesday 27 July, so these may prove to be two of the best days in the month for single people out looking for a good time. It can also be favourable for companies selling good that use sex appeal in their advertising. There may be issues that surround what constitutes love and lust. Items that will sell particularly well would be perfumes for women focussing on drawing in a man and aftershaves for men focussing on drawing in woman. There could be some interesting romantic liaisons formed this month, some of which will reach the attention of the public. As Mars is in the Royal sign of Leo, this could particularly focus on a Royal romance or wedding.
In chronological order there are various changes in the heavens this month and they are: There will be a Full Moon on Friday 2 July; Mercury enters Leo on Monday 5 July; there will be New Moon in Cancer on 17 July; the Sun enters Leo on 22 July; and lastly Mercury moves once more and this time into the other sign it rules which is Virgo on 26 July.
Firstly in the month on Friday 2 July we have a Full Moon with the Sun in the water sign of Cancer and the Moon in the earthy sign of Capricorn. There could be some clashes of opinion regarding cultural and traditional views around this time. The age gap can also widen and cause barriers when attempting to relate to each other successfully. There may be some insensitivity to the matters the community wish to bring to the attention of people in high places.
We see Mercury entering Leo on Monday 5 July and this could focus lots of newsy items connected to the television and movie industry or perhaps focussing on matters to do with children and their welfare. An orphanage or children's hospital may receive more focus or notoriety than usual. A young person from a royal background or who is the child of a famous celebrity or other VIP may also be in the news.
On Thursday 22 July the life-giving Sun enters the royal sign of Leo, and this can bring about a focus on gold shares, entertainment, parties and big celebratory events involving showbiz and lots of glamorously dressed people out strutting their stuff. Not the time to hide your light under a bushel, but rather put your best threads on and show the world your real talents. Someone in power may become hugely popular during this month long phase and there may also be some spotlight shining more brightly on one of the Royal family. Having fun and enjoying oneself may be the tune during this time. So technically speaking Venus will sextile Mars twice during the month, yet in fact they will be in sextile aspect all month for new babies born during July and up to 19 August, and this can also impact on new relationships formed during this seven week period. Romances will mainly tend to be about what is on the surface, so what is attractive will be the most important element of the relationship.
Lastly on Monday 26 July Mercury is on the move again and enters the other sign it rules which is Virgo. There will tend to be more focus on health care issues, the hospital system and matters associated with hygiene and cleanliness. There could be some contamination in the water system or air conditioning systems come to light or to do with plumbing and drainage systems.
For horary enthusiasts, all month we see Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces indicating that they are still in mutual reception.
Now down to the specifics of daily planetary activity.
The favourable days in July 2004 are:
Tuesday 6 July: Sun sextile Jupiter. This is a beautiful alignment of the life-giving Sun with expansive Jupiter. It can provide us with the inspiration and faith to get any new endeavour under way with enthusiasm and sincerity of purpose. Open an entertainment centre or have a huge banquet or festival then and it will go off like a rocket to the Moon. This is also a good day to get married, start new friendships and any project involved with gold, glamour or places of amusement or the publishing industry. It is also one of the better kind of planetary times to commence just about anything that is important to you. A new store or business opening today would do well if focussed on books, publishing, the travel industry or to do with the law. If you strive for success on a day like this you are likely to achieve your goal. This is also an excellent time to start an overseas holiday.
Monday 12 July: Mercury sextile Venus. This tends to incline people towards thoughts of love, harmony and peace. Some will write lengthy declarations of their feelings for the one they adore. Peaceful negotiations are highly likely for those who have the best interests of everyone at heart. A good day to have a celebration, throw a party, go on a special date, get engaged or married. Businesses focussing on communications and the elements of romance will fare well, such as greeting cards offering words of love and friendship. A day of love and poetry and light hearted fun and frivolity. Take time out today to enjoy some lovely music or pleasant scenery and you will be aligning your actions in accord with the romantic and peaceful vibrations of the heavens. Romantic attachments and friendships formed today will be free of jealousy or binding commitments. People will want to be carefree and concerned only with happiness and pleasure.
Saturday 17 July. Venus sextile Mars; Venus trine Neptune and Mercury trine Pluto.
Firstly the Venus/Mars alignment. Those in the business of selling will have a field day if they use the methods of 'sex sells' at this time. The seductive elements between these planets can be wielded on an innocent public who will actually lap it up like a pussycat with a bowl of milk. A good day to get married, engaged, go on a first date or start a business involved in capturing the imagination of those who are interested in what attracts one to another. Items such as perfumes and aftershaves will sell well today, or any other item that lures people to one another. This aspect will be in exact orb again on Tuesday 27 July 2004.
Secondly the Venus/Neptune alignment. This is just wonderful for a first date, getting engaged or married or throwing a huge party or other social gathering. If you utilise the themes of the ocean, romantic or magical effects the outcome will be truly fascinating for all those who participate. Musicians, artists and poets will be in their element and thoughts and the imagination flowing freely and inspired by the mystical aspects of the Universe. A good day to open a business focussing on the elements of beauty, flowers, crystals, perfumes and women's products.
Thirdly the Mercury/Pluto alignment also today. This aspect is repeated from Wednesday 5 May. This is the day that detectives and the police can uncover hidden motives, dead bodies, or anything else that has been covered over. Also a good time to start writing a mystery novel, solving a crossword puzzle, or doing that jigsaw. The mind will be penetrating and clear. Those who seek to discover what lies beneath the surface of things will be pleasantly surprised with what they find. Sunday 25 July: Mars trine Pluto. A great day to open a gym or get involved in any business or project with the aim of improvement or transformation. A good day to start some home renovations as the energy and ideas will be there. Also a good time to buy a new car, start your own mechanical engineering business or car retailing, or car repair shop. Physical energy will be in abundance so if you want to flex the muscles and enter a marathon run, then go to it.

Sunday 4 July: Mars quincunx Uranus. This is a minor angle between Mars, the God of War with erratic Uranus. This is a highly explosive and accident prone time, so do not start out on any new journey or buy a car today. Try to avoid working with heavy machinery or electrical items as it is likely something will go horribly wrong. Plans will be unsettled and errors likely to arise quite unexpectedly. Take your time if people start to get pushy or forceful. Riots can develop easily so avoid large gatherings or people who are out to start a fight. Do not make any particularly personal decisions today as this could be fraught with problems and dangerous conditions.
Tuesday 6 July: Sun quincunx Neptune. This minor not so helpful angle between the life-giving Sun and elusive Neptune is not the day to trust strangers, get involved in any project you know little about or to be trusting even with those whom you thought would never deceive you. Con artists will flourish today so make sure you know all the facts about someone before you even dare hand over a dollar of your hard earned income to them. There could be a big drug haul occur today and they may even get away with it, unless of course an insider wants to get them busted for a previous indiscretion involving a matter of trust that went badly wrong. Don't get married today or start any new business for there will be hidden traps for the unwary or the gullible. This alignment is potentially very secretive and people are prone to be susceptible to major confusion. Some who are into swindling and scams will pull the wool over the eyes of those who are gullible and take everything at face value. There will be wolves hiding beneath sheep's clothing. There will be many who will camouflage their true colours, so for those who are wearing blinkers, you may suffer at their hands. To put it simply, as I have said before, trust everyone, but cut the cake yourself. Drugs may be found in unlikely places or hidden by people whom you would not suspect. Just remember, no-one should be above reproach. Beware of danger or problems near the ocean, gas, oil wells, and take care that there is nothing contaminating your food or drinks. Poisoning can occur for the unwary. Friendships formed today need to pass the test of time before people are considered trustworthy. Someone in power may be on an ego trip and try to call someone's bluff on a major issue. Do not trust any new kids on the block, so to speak. (Also note the favourable Sun/Jupiter alignment on the same day).
Thursday 8 July: Mercury quincunx Uranus. This is a minor unfortunate angle between Mercury and Uranus. A buzzing and electrically charged day so plan your agenda with plenty of room to manoeuvre when the interruptions come in. Many will find themselves mentally exhausted after a day like this and the long hot bath at the end of the day will be truly welcomed before retiring to bed. Some will just thrive though and flashes like bolts of lightening will enter their brainwaves, and have them coming up with the most amazing insights and new inventions. Keep a pen and paper handy or a tape recorder for all those great ideas to make note of before they get lost in cyberspace. The Internet will go into overdrive too and your inbox could overflow or get blocked in some way due to over use.
Friday 9 July: Sun conjunct Saturn. This alignment between the Sun and Saturn which I tend to consider mostly as a not so helpful vibration, unless one is very mature and has managed their life successfully to date. This influence is not conducive to asking for a raise, getting married, taking on a new job, starting a new business or even going for an interview. Chances are there will be problems, delays, restrictions or other depressing conditions to cope with if you try to tackle difficult problems on a day like this. No new ventures should be decided upon or started to avoid problems that could last for many years to come. This can be a disappointing day if you plan to make any significant personal decision that affects your well-being and your future plans. This can have long-term ramifications so choose wisely. Not the day to approach the boss for a raise, as people in power are prone to be unreachable. There can be barriers or walls to challenge those who try to make peaceful negotiations, so refrain from these today where possible. An elderly person or a VIP may be in the news and showing concern for their safety or position. Someone in power or politics or royalty may lose their status or standing in the community.
Saturday 10 July: Jupiter quincunx Neptune. This alignment of Jupiter with Neptune, which last occurred on 3 March this year is again repeated. This is a difficult, if somewhat minor alignment. These energies have been brewing for a week or so and will continue for another week or two as well. Despite the negative connotation of this aspect, this could in fact turn out to be a positive alignment if those amongst us are able to rise above the mundane and see the higher octave of the true meaning of life and our purpose in it. However, we are not all so highly or finely tuned and therefore it can be a time of trials and tribulations, productive of errors, or expectations magnified out of all proportion and leading us to false judgments and flawed reasoning. There will be a feeling of having our faith tested, yet again, and those who are not strong in mind, will start to wilt and crack under the pressure. What appears to be a heroic or wise deed, may turn out to be a totally fraudulent and/or wasteful exercise. Liars, cheats and con men will be out in full force so tread warily and trust no-one at face value and even question those you do know well, just in case there was an oversight or there is some misunderstanding that can produce problems later on. Fuel prices may go through the roof or there are problems connected with these or with the shipping and travel industries.
Sunday 11 July: Mercury conjunct Mars. This is an angle that can be used positively or negatively and is a very high energy day on a mental level so people will want to voice their opinions or be vocal about what they consider important. It can be a good day to start a new business that requires huge doses of both intellect and muscle. Also a good time to enter a marathon run, or join up with a group of young people to swap ideas on how to get and stay fit and healthy. This is also a time to become organised with your filing system, conquer the mountain of paperwork and then let off steam later in the gym for some muscle flexing. This can inspire some to get a communications projects off and running. A great day for combined mental and muscle challenges. An educational hike or walking tour amongst young people would go well. However, as this is occurring in Leo, where the ego can be somewhat inflated, there will be some people going off half cocked in their aim to get all the attention. Disputes will arise between people who are unbending or unwilling to see the other side of a situation. Stubbornness may be the order of the day so try to stay away from pushy and inflexible types who only want their own way. Some people may be accident prone on a day like this and I would also advise people not to buy a car today.
Monday 12 July: Sun quincunx Pluto. This is potentially a highly volatile and explosive angle that can erupt from out of nowhere and create chaos and ruin for those who take chances with their lives and their safety. A VIP or other person of high standing may take a fall or be held accountable for some misdeed from their past. Any secrets that are buried may be re-surfaced and exposed for all to see. This will be an ugly time for some, as the underworld elements of this can be exposed and create unpleasant situations for people to try to extract themselves from what they are involved in. Not a good day to buy a car, go into business, get married, engaged or start a new job, friendship or other personal decisions that can reflect on oneself at a later time. Be careful who you associate with and do not trust strangers. Alleyways and dark places should be avoided like the plague. (Please also note the favourable Mercury/Venus alignment on the same day).
Tuesday 13 July: Mercury opposition Neptune. This is one of those potentially deceitful days when people can easily colour over their mistakes and present a picture that is marred inside and out, if you would only lift the veil of elusion to view the ugly and distorted truth. It is wise not to sign any important documents on a day like this as there will be more loopholes than found in a fish-net. Those who generally tend to give people the benefit of the doubt will prove to be the most vulnerable. Do not believe all you read or hear today as there will be lies and deception running rampant.
Saturday 17 July: Mars opposition Neptune. This is an alignment which may cloud our vision or create errors of judgement. This is the most potentially deceptive day of the whole month and should be treated with care. There is great potential for people masquerading as someone else so check all those beards and wigs, just in case. Those who seek to disguise themselves will do very well and walk off with the loot before anyone even suspected that they could possibly be the culprits. It will be somewhat like the lady with the baby in the pram who is camouflaging her real intent of treachery and deceit, in a very big way. Do not start a new business today or attempt some impossible feat, for it will have holes in it that are hard to see or instructions to decipher. (Please also note the three favourable alignments on the same day).
Tuesday 20 July: Venus square Jupiter. This is not perhaps the worst day in the month, unless you are going shopping with that brand new credit card and get carried away by all the goodies on offer. Things will be over-done and lavish and if you apply this in relation to a party, well at least everyone will have a good time, even if they do eat and drink too much or start some new relationship that seems inappropriate to their status. Weddings held today will be big, brash, boastful and very expensive. Diamond dealers may have a good retail trading day as will businesses selling perfumes, flowers, clothing, jewellery and other items of beauty and adornment.
Monday 26 July. Venus opposition Pluto. This aspect was exact on 2 May and repeated again on Thursday 3 June for the second hit and is repeated here for the third and last time as Venus is now direct and therefore the angle occurs again. This is not the time to start a new relationship, propose, get married, go on a blind date, nor trust anyone you meet for the first time. Possessiveness and jealousy may be a hidden agenda for any romantic or business relationships that are formed today. Take care that your new found friend is not a wolf hiding in sheep's clothing. Any money making adventure may be full or loopholes so take care if you have to sign any important documents. People can become obsessive about one another and later found to be prying into their private affairs. This is the sinister and subversive side of this aspect and can be productive of jealousy to an insane degree. Those who do choose to unite today will probably live to regret it. There will be undercurrents of resentment and hidden motives to the relationship. One may manipulate the other and this will have possessive overtones and result in pain and suffering to the victim. Also do not start any new enterprise today, especially one that involves your hard earned savings. Do not start a new business project, especially one that involves flowers, perfumes or any situation where you are expecting things to flow smoothly. Time is the great teacher, and today the lessons may be harder to swallow. (This is a repeat of 2 May 2004 due to when Venus was in retrograde phase).
