Play The Lead Role In Your Own Life

General overview for February 2007.

This month of February is going to be relatively helpful for most of us, as there are 8 positive alignments compared to only 4 negative ones, and a couple that can go either way.

We have the opportunity this month do a reality check on ourselves and our life and decide what is not making us happy and getting rid of it, once and for all, hopefully. We are also asked to play the lead role in our own lives, rather than allow someone else to take the lead. You have to make your own choices for yourself, and be confident that you are making the ones you really want to for your own personal happiness. There is no point allowing other people to make your decisions and then when things don’t pan out so nicely, you blame them for having influenced you. Take charge of your own life, take the lead role, and then at the very end, at least you know you did it your way.

In chronological order there are various changes in the heavens this month and they are: there will be a Full Moon on 2 February; Mercury is on the move again by entering Pisces on Friday 2 February and remaining in this sign up until 28 February, and then retrogrades back into Aquarius on that date for about three weeks; there will be a New Moon on Sunday 18 February; the life-giving Sun will enter the mystical sign of Pisces on Monday 19 February for a stay of one month; Venus will enter dynamic Aries on Wednesday 21 February and remain in this sign up until 18 March; Mars will enter Aquarius on Monday 26 February and remain in this sign up until 7 April 2007; Mercury re-enters Aquarius on Tuesday 27 February and will then re-enter Pisces on 19 March 2007.

There will be a Full Moon on Friday 2 February with the Sun at 12 degrees Aquarius and the Moon at 12 degrees of Leo. For some the ego may get in the way of the collective vision of mankind. Try to be more open-minded and offer a helping hand to those in need.

Mercury will enter Pisces on Friday 2 February and remain in this sign up until 28 February. This is the time to tune into the Cosmos for insight and guidance. There will be mystics in the news and all sorts of movies coming out during the next two and a half months that will focus primarily on things that are intangible such as dreams, visions, clairvoyance, magic, mysteries and all elements of the unknown, untried and untested. Those who seek to find their true destiny may very well be inspired and start out on a new path of self discovery. Artists, musicians, poets and writers of mystery will have a wonderful time finding the most imaginative ways to be productive of creative and beautiful works.

On Valentine’s Day 14 February Mercury will turn retrograde and remain in this phase up until 7 March (my birthday by the way, so I would be only too happy to receive some unexpected gifts in the mail!). I will quote from previous articles how we mere mortals are influenced by this phenomena. (See my feature article on my website for an in-depth comment). However briefly, it is a time when people seem to go into an indecisive mode, or they make a decision and then renege on it at a later time. For some though this can be a good period for mental reflection and deep thought to understand what it is that you truly want to do. Often writers are highly productive during this time and some people are able to get lots of paper work done. Some have to re-trace their steps, or send that fax twice, as there are glitches and hitches that can get in the way of clear communications. This is not the time to make major decisions if you can help it. As this influence will last approx. 23 days, it can interfere with plans and arrangements, such as to do with travel, tickets, and time schedules. If you travel to a particular destination during this time, you may later go there again in the future. This can be one of the most rewarding times to reflect on your thoughts, go over any previously laid plans and reassess whether it is exactly what you had in mind. You do not need to actually set things in motion at this time, just do the planning and preparation ready for when Mercury goes direct, in about three weeks time. So check the documents three times, allow for alterations to arise, and then check it all once more for accuracy. However, if you do need to leave a loophole open for further possible changes, then this may actually prove to be a fortunate time to commence a project where there will be no objection to changes you wish to make at a later time.

There will be a New Moon at 28 degrees of Aquarius on Sunday 18 February so for those who want to strike out with their own unique ideas will be in a natural accordance with this planetary vibration. As it is a fixed sign, some things may take a little longer to manifest, though sure and safe wins the race. This is the time to be innovative in as many ways as you can think of and it will give you a fresh perspective on life.

The life-giving Sun will move into Pisces around 19 February for a stay of one month. Perhaps we should use this time to become more aware and in tune with the natural energies of this lovely planet, nature and the ocean. Those who are naturally gifted psychically could have some wonderful and enlightening experiences. So too can musicians artists, poets and all those interested in tapping the vast unknown. It is a time to show sensitivity and compassion for those who are less fortunate than ourselves and to be peaceful in mind and body.

Venus will move into dynamic Aries on Wednesday 21 February and remain in this sign up until 18 March 2007. This can generally mean a bonus time for hairdressers, when everyone wants to make their head (and any hair on it) look better. The hairdressing industry may have a boom time and find they are in the spotlight for some reason. If you want to make a good impression on someone, make sure your grooming is perfect, or forget it. We may witness many and varied new romances that can start quickly and go very swiftly and hastily through the motions towards a quick end. Dynamic sales pitches that involve appealing to the senses and to physical attraction, passion and romance can catch public attention at this time. The fashion industry may take on a bold and daring tone so be prepared for colourful, full-on and striking displays. Social gatherings that incorporate much glitter and glamour and sparkle will be successful. Artists and musicians can be highly productive during this time.

Mars will enters the future oriented and humanitarian sign of Aquarius on Monday 26 February and remain in this sign up until 7 April 2007. This can bring a focus on people doing things their own unique way, right or wrong. Stubbornness may be demonstrated in various avenues and those who are headstrong will not be swayed by anyone. The positives are that this is a humanitarian sign and those whose motives are for the overall good of mankind will also be unwilling to bend or be distracted from their cause. Team work or group work will be more emphatically pursued rather than going it alone, though there can be the odd spanner in the works to liven things up a little, as some will not want to follow the rules. Freedom of movement will be paramount for some and this will be fought for if necessary. The scientific world may spearhead some new invention or gadgets. The computer industry will be in full swing and the Internet will be highly active and many will use this medium to express their opinions to the wider world. On the negative side, riots are also likely to occur and can quickly become violent and angry. Revolutionaries will be out there and standing up to be counted. The established order of doing things will be seen as too narrowing and restrictive. There will be many rebellious and unorthodox methods used to gain what is desired.

Mercury, in its retrograde phase will re-enter Aquarius on Tuesday 27 February and remain in this sign up until 19 March 2007. This sign is associated with astrology, astrologers and things associated with modern technology such as computers and the aviation industry. Astrologers will be busy and sought after more so than usual. Thoughts can now hold more focus, for some, but not all, on how we can become more altruistic and show concern for our brothers and our sisters on this planet, despite what country they, or we, were born in.

For horary enthusiasts, continuing all month we still observe Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces indicating that they are still in mutual reception.

Now down to the specifics of daily planetary activity.

The favourable days in February 2007 are:

Thursday 1 February: Mercury sextile Pluto. This is the day that detectives and the police can uncover hidden motives, dead bodies, or anything else that has been covered over. Also a good time to start writing a mystery novel, solving a crossword puzzle, or doing that jigsaw. The mind will be penetrating and clear. Those who seek to discover what lies beneath the surface of things will be pleasantly surprised with what they find. Starting a new study course too will keep those in attendance in awe of what they learn.

Saturday 3 February: Mars sextile Uranus. This is a combination that is electrifying and exciting. There will be some amazing stories in the news and those who seek to surprise and shock will capture the most attention. A great day to buy a new car, an aeroplane if you can afford one, or start an automotive business or even an electronics store. Inventive and original ideas, as well as using your initiative will be pay dividends, especially if you put some extra energy into your endeavors.

Sunday 4 February: Sun sextile Jupiter. This is a beautiful alignment of the life-giving Sun with expansive Jupiter. It can provide us with the inspiration and faith to get any new endeavour under way with enthusiasm and sincerity of purpose. Open an entertainment centre or have a huge banquet or festival then and it will go off like a rocket to the Moon. This is also a good day to get married, start new friendships and any project involved with gold, glamour or places of amusement or the publishing industry. It is also one of the better kind of planetary times to commence just about anything that is important to you. A new store or business opening today would do well if focussed on books, publishing, the travel industry or to do with the law. If you strive for success on a day like this you are likely to achieve your goal. This is also a good time to start an overseas holiday.

Thursday 8 February: Venus conjunct Uranus. Those who dare to be innovative will capture the attention of their audience in a startling and exciting way during this time. Love relationships started today will be different in as many ways as there are stars in the sky. People involved in the arts, musical, beauty or related fields will be very productive and become more creative and inventive than usual. Those who wish to shock the conservative ones will be pleasantly surprised at how well they are actually accepted. The more unique your product or talent that you wish to show or sell will prove highly prosperous. A good day to get married, go on a first date, buy new clothes or throw a party or become involved in any form of entertainment. Love at first sight can happen today for those who are footloose and fancy free. However, be aware that this can be over before you have found out their surname. Sorry, but that is the erratic and unpredictable nature of Uranus aligning with Venus the planet of love and harmony. Relationships and friendships can start and end relatively quickly, but hey, if that’s what you want you can have it in abundance today if you go looking for it. There may also be some unusual couplings going on and you could hear of some people who get together whom you may think are unsuited, and well that may be, but just try stopping them and you will be ignored. Some may take leave of their senses when it comes to starting a relationship with someone new. Some relationships may last a long period of time, but only if a huge amount of flexibility and freedom is incorporated into their lifestyle.

Friday 9 February: Sun conjunct Neptune. This can be one of those days that will seem magical to those who are open and attuned to the cosmic vibrations around them. A positively inspiring day and one that will be long remembered as a day that brings the beautiful side of nature and life to our attention and the recognition that there are great wonders all around us, each and every day, if we just open our eyes and senses. Spend some time relaxing near the ocean and it will soothe your tired or restless soul. Music will be inspirational and those who are gifted in this area may create some magical lyrics or tunes. Opening a store selling musical or artistic products should fare well. However also be aware that the downside of these energies can bring confusion, deceit, masquerades, and people out to get what they can by whatever underhanded tactics are required. The sheep in wolf’s clothing can be an appropriate way to describe what may be encountered for those who are unwary.

On Wednesday 14 February (Valentine’s Day) there is a lovely angle between the feminine principle of Venus, with the masculine principle of Mars. Those in the business of selling will have a field day if they use the methods of ‘sex sells’ at this time. The seductive elements between these planets can be wielded on an innocent public who will actually lap it up like a pussycat with a bowl of milk. A good day to get married, engaged, go on a first date or start a business involved in capturing the imagination of those who are interested in what attracts one to another. Items such as perfumes and aftershaves will sell well, or other items that lures people to one another.

Sunday 18 February: Sun sextile Pluto. This can prove to be a great time to try to remake yourself or change your spots, if you need to. A day to spring clean, get rid of the old and outworn and be refreshed by the newness of starting out on a new path. Someone in power may take a gigantic leap forward or be presented with an offer that almost seems too good to be true, but it will ultimately change the course of their destiny. A wonderful day to get married or start some new enterprise that involves reform or renovation in any way. If you wish to pull down the walls and rebuild them, this is the best time to do it. New relationships formed today, whether friendship or intimate, will literally put your life into a different perspective and possibly change your life forever.

Friday 23 February: Sun conjunct Mercury. This aspect makes some people get really focussed mentally while others just get flustered or frazzled by too much grey matter being stimulated. For those who like a fast pace in their daily routine they will sail ahead smoothly and swiftly. The others will have to do it again probably, and then they will get it right. This is called a combust situation, where a planet is so close to the Sun and the Sun can literally burn up the other planet. This can cause a congestion of information on telephone lines, faxes, e-mails and even face to face communications, where one person is just not hearing the other or cannot seem to reach an agreement or get their heads together on the same issue. Postpone any really important negotiations until a better day. Some people will enjoy a day like this and they will not be agitated by the influx of interruptions or extra communications because they will literally thrive on it. At least they will not have a boring day. The rest of us will be somewhat confused and exhausted by the end of the day and be seeking some quiet time away from the demands of this modern world.

The not so favourable days in February 2007 are:

Friday 9 February: Venus square Jupiter. This is not perhaps the worst day in the month, unless you are going shopping with that brand new credit card and get carried away by all the goodies on offer. Things will be over-done and lavish and if you apply this in relation to a party, well at least everyone will have a good time, even if they do eat and drink too much or start some new relationship that seems inappropriate to their status. Weddings held today will be big, brash, boastful and very expensive. Diamond dealers may have a good retail trading day as will businesses selling perfumes, flowers, clothing, jewellery and other items of beauty and adornment.

Sunday 11 February: Sun opposition Saturn. There are potential limitations imposed by this angle. This influence is not conducive to asking for a raise, getting married, taking on a new job, starting a new business or even going for an interview. Chances are there will be problems, delays, restrictions or other depressing conditions to cope with if you try to tackle difficult problems on a day like this. No new ventures should be decided upon or started to avoid problems that could last for many years to come. This can be a disappointing day if you plan to make any significant personal decision that affects your well being and your future plans. This can have long-term ramifications so choose wisely. Not the day to approach the boss for a raise, as people in power are prone to be unreachable. There can be barriers or walls to challenge those who try to make peaceful negotiations, so refrain from these today where possible. An elderly person or a VIP may be in the news and showing concern for their safety or position. Someone in power or politics or royalty may lose their status or standing in the community.

Tuesday 20 February: Venus square Pluto. Not the best kind of day to start a new romance, friendship, or get engaged or married. Hidden motives or jealousy could set the tone for a disastrous relationship, so avoid those tall dark strangers who surround themselves in mystery and intrigue. Do not trust anyone you meet for the first time, no matter how enticing it may seem. You could get caught in the black widow spider’s web of deceit and corruption. Some people may violate others rights and con them into believing they are onto something wonderful, however the wolf in sheep’s clothing is very near the door. People who harbour grudges will be on every corner so avoid and entanglement that shows any sign whatsoever of someone who is bitter or twisted in any way. However this may be hard to pinpoint, due the deceptive element of this aspect.

Wednesday 28 February: Saturn opposition Neptune. This is actually a harsh angle, and this has been brewing again for a few weeks, and is repeated from the first alignment last August. This can be a time, covering several weeks, where the established order of things may dissolve or intentions are misunderstood, or deception is carried out in places of power, authority, and especially in government areas and previously strictly structured organisations. The walls may literally collapse or start to feel the strain. Someone in a high position may be side swiped or they disappear or drown. There may be a scandal in high places and some red faces to answer serious allegations of corruption or misuse of power. What was thought to be stable may become unstable. Ice may melt into the water. Snow capped mountains may experience major landslides.
