Tradition vs Rebellion
General overview for November 2005.
This month of November has five very helpful planetary alignments and seven to challenge us yet again. This month I feel we will really be tested in the ways we are solid and fixed, and also in how flexible we can be if situations arise that require our immediate attention and adjustment to change. There will be three planets changing direction; namely, Mercury will go into retrograde phase, as will Saturn, yet Uranus, the planet of change and unexpected developments goes direct. We may therefore be forced to choose between the traditional and the untraditional. Uranus rules rebellion and Saturn relations to all that is expected of us. We may witness varied reactions to situations that require us to be responsible, yet open to new ideas. Some may find themselves being overly traditional in certain areas of their life, yet rebelling and kicking over the traces in other areas.
Once again, I have listed all the dates (that are still current) where the planets change direction. Each month I will look at how this can manifest in our lives according to which planet is changing sign and/or direction.
14 June Uranus turned retrograde for 5 months and will remain in that phase up until 15 November 2005.
16 July Saturn entered Leo and will remain in this sign up until 2 September 2007.
01 October Mars turns retrograde for over 2 months and will remain in that phase up until 9 December 2005.
14 November Mercury turns retrograde for 3 weeks and will remain in that phase until 3 December 2005.
15 November Uranus goes direct.
22 November Saturn turns retrograde for over 4 months and will remain in that phase up until 4 May 2006.
04 December Mercury goes direct.
10 December Mars goes direct.
There was a New Moon at 9 degrees of Scorpio on Wednesday 2 November. If you have personal planets at this degree in your personal chart you may notice that you are given a second chance to renew your life or eliminate that which is no longer needed for your personal satisfaction.
On Saturday 5 November Venus will enter the hard working sign of Capricorn and remain there up until 16 December 2005. This could be a good time to bring some fresh flowers to the office, or do some re-decorating especially anything involving beautiful arrangements, colours, delicate flowing fabrics, drapes or antiques. People of different age groups or nationalities can achieve some harmony if they make the effort during this time.
Mercury turns retrograde on Monday 14 November and will remain in that phase up until 4 December 2005. I will quote again from previous articles how we mere mortals are influenced by this phenomena. (See my feature article on my website for an in-depth comment on this). However briefly, it is a time when people seem to go into an indecisive mode, or they make a decision and then renege on it at a later time. For some though this can be a good period for mental reflection and deep thought to understand what it is that you truly want to do. Often writers are highly productive during this time and some people are able to get lots of paper work done. Some have to re-trace their steps, or send that fax twice, as there are glitches and hitches that can get in the way of clear communications. This is not the time to make major decisions if you can help it. As this influence will last approximately 24 days, it can interfere with plans and arrangements, such as to do with travel, tickets, and time schedules. If you travel to a particular destination during this time, you may later go there again in the future. This can be one of the most rewarding times to reflect on your thoughts, go over any previously laid plans and reassess whether it is exactly what you had in mind. You do not need to actually set things in motion at this time, just do the planning and preparation ready for when Mercury goes direct, which will be on 16 August 2005. So check the documents three times, allow for alterations to arise, and then check it all once more for accuracy. However, if you do need to leave a loophole open for further possible changes, then this may actually prove to be a fortunate time to commence a project where there will be no objection to changes you wish to make at a later time.
On Wednesday 16 November Uranus will turn direct and this can be useful for all those astrologers out there, the aviation, radio and television industries, and any new technological advances that have been waiting in the wings to get their launch out into the big wide world. Businesses that run along these lines can now push ahead with confidence that smooth sailing is once again obtainable. NASA may have more luck with their projects into outer space. Those amongst us who are generally highly intuitive, may get super flashes of insight and be able to just know which is the right way to turn or the best place to be at the most perfect time.
Also today there will be a Full Moon with the Sun in sexy Scorpio and the Moon in earthy Taurus. Relationships may be tested today to see if they can withstand the test of time and devotion.
On Tuesday 22 November the life-giving Sun will enter the philosophical sign of Sagittarius and remain there for one whole calendar month. This can bring overseas matters to the fore and there could very well be a big focus on Australia and someone in prominence here or a VIP visiting this country or having an impact overseas. Some members of the British Royal family may be on the move and travelling far and wide.
Also today Saturn will turn retrograde at 11 degrees of Leo and remain in that phase up until 5 April 2006. Where there had been can be order, regulations and a stronger hand forcing those to follow the rules, now some people will start running amok, possibly with no sense of where there are going or how to get there. We may not have much stability in the housing market and/or land prices, or it goes through a very sluggish time. Those ambitious ones amongst us, may feel they are getting nowhere or going backwards from their aims. They may have hoped in vain that their plans would take them in leaps and bounds up the corporate ladder. Alas a more propitious time will come for that.
Mercury will re-enter Scorpio on Saturday 26 November and remain in that sign until 12 December 2005. This has the elements of decay, death, renewal and transformation. The positive manifestation of this can be a new life rising out of the old. We can make the best use of this time to fathom our deepest selves and come to understand what motivates us and what we are really trying to achieve in our life. This is the sign that goes to the deepest core of our being which can reveal hidden truths that have been buried for way too long. If we can align our intentions with our true nature and be aware that we each have our own unique dark side, we may be able to forge ahead and bring to light the real purpose of why we do the things we do. Whilst there is some truth in the fact that some things should always remain a secret, there are also beneficial results in dealing with harsh truths so that there is then no need to feel the guilt of having kept something hidden for so long. We can each create for ourselves a new life out of our new found truths and be more conscious of why we have felt unable to express ourselves open and honestly before now.
For horary enthusiasts, continuing all month we still observe Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces indicating that they are still in mutual reception.
Now down to the specifics of daily planetary activity.
The favourable days in Novembe 2005 are:
Tuesday 8 November: Venus sextile Jupiter. This is a brilliant day for getting engaged, married or starting a new romance or friendship. Also good for opening a new business, especially if it is connected to womens products, entertainment, the travel industry or foreign relations. Throwing a lavish party will also meet with success, though could be very costly. Starting a long distance journey, voyage or holiday could put you on a new learning curve and would be highly enjoyable and may result in a new love interest in your life, if you are single and fancy free. (Also note the unhelpful Mars clash with Neptune influence today).
Saturday 12 November: Venus sextile Uranus. Those who dare to be innovative will capture the attention of their audience in a startling and exciting way during this time. Love relationships started today will be different in as many ways as there are stars in the sky. People involved in the arts, musical, beauty or related fields will be very productive and become more creative and inventive than usual. Those who wish to shock the conservative ones will be pleasantly surprised at how well they are actually accepted. The more unique your product or talent that you wish to show or sell will prove highly prosperous. A good day to get married, go on a first date, buy new clothes or throw a party or become involved in any form of entertainment.
Friday 18 November: Venus trine Mars. Those in the business of selling will have a field day if they use the methods of sex sells at this time. The seductive elements between these planets can be wielded on an innocent public who will actually lap it up like a pussycat with a bowl of milk. A good day to get married, engaged, go on a first date or start a business involved in capturing the imagination of those who are interested in what attracts one to another. Items such as perfumes and aftershaves will sell well today, or any other item that lures people to one another.
Friday 25 November: Sun conjunct Mercury. This aspect makes some people get really focussed mentally while others just get flustered or frazzled by too much grey matter being stimulated. For those who like a fast pace in their daily routine they will sail ahead smoothly and swiftly. The others will have to do it again probably, and then they will get it right. This is called a combust situation, where a planet is so close to the Sun and the Sun can literally burn up the other planet. This can cause a congestion of information on telephone lines, faxes, e-mails and even face to face communications, where one person is just not hearing the other or cannot seem to reach an agreement or get their heads together on the same issue. Postpone any really important negotiations until a better day. Some people will enjoy a day like this and they will not be agitated by the influx of interruptions or extra communications because they will literally thrive on it. At least they will not have a boring day. The rest of us will be somewhat confused and exhausted by the end of the day and be seeking some quiet time away from the demands of this modern world.
Sunday 27 November: Jupiter trine Uranus. This is an exceptionally positive alignment where we are able to embrace the bigger picture through different eyes. Those inventors out there may make some amazing discoveries and bring to the world some ideas that will literally blow us away. Travel will be exciting and very adventurous during this time. We can start our lives over with a new point of view if we choose to do so.
The not so favourable days in November 2005 are:
Thursday 3 November: Sun square Saturn. There are potential limitations imposed by this angle. This influence is not conducive to asking for a raise, getting married, taking on a new job, starting a new business or even going for an interview. Chances are there will be problems, delays, restrictions or other depressing conditions to cope with if you try to tackle difficult problems on a day like this. No new ventures should be decided upon or started to avoid problems that could last for many years to come. This can be a disappointing day if you plan to make any significant personal decision that affects your well being and your future plans. This can have long-term ramifications so choose wisely. Not the day to approach the boss for a raise, as people in power are prone to be unreachable. There can be barriers or walls to challenge those who try to make peaceful negotiations, so refrain from these today where possible. An elderly person or a VIP may be in the news and showing concern for their safety or position. Someone in power or politics or royalty may lose their status or standing in the community.
Sunday 6 November: Mercury square Uranus. A buzzing and electrically charged day so plan your agenda with plenty of room to maneuver when the interruptions come in. Many will find themselves mentally exhausted after a day like this and the long hot bath at the end of the day will be truly welcomed before retiring to bed. Some will just thrive though, receiving flashes like bolts of lightening entering their brainwaves. Some will come up with the most amazing insights and new inventions. Keep a pen and paper handy or a tape recorder for all those great ideas to make note of before they get lost in cyberspace. The Internet will go into overdrive too and your inbox could overflow or get blocked in some way due to over use. Plans and travel arrangement can run amok so be prepared and have an alternative route to follow. Accidents will happen for those who are unprepared for changes as they arise. Not the day to buy a computer or any other electrical item. Steer clear of potentia l hazards such as frayed electrical cords etc. Young people are more at risk than the elderly. (Please note that this aspect will be repeated again on Monday 21 November 2005).
Monday 7 November: Sun opposition Mars. Not a day to speed down the highway ignorant of other drivers on the road. Not a good day to travel and, in particular, in any vehicle that will take risks or go too fast. Not a day to even go on a risky amusement park ride as something may just go wrong. This is an accident prone day so do not buy a new car or other machinery, or attempt to cross the road when there is lots of traffic. Some people will go off half cocked and end up red faced if they try stepping on other peopleˇ¦s toes unnecessarily. Someone in power may have some difficult problems to deal with that arises suddenly and has to be resolved without blinking. People will not be patient or feel like waiting around on a day like this.
Tuesday 8 November: Mars square Neptune. Mars square Neptune. This is an alignment which may cloud our vision or create errors of judgement. It can potentially be deceptive day and should be treated with care. There is great potential for people masquerading as someone else so check all those beards and wigs, just in case. Those who seek to disguise themselves will do very well and walk off with the loot before anyone even suspected that they could possibly be the culprits. It will be somewhat like the lady with the baby in the pram who is camouflaging her real intent of treachery and deceit, in a very big way. Do not start a new business today or attempt some impossible feat, for it will have holes in it that are hard to see or instructions to decipher. (Please also note the helpful Venus/Jupiter influence today).
Saturday 19 November: Mars square Saturn. We have this harsh angle between Mars the God of War and sombre Saturn. Not a day to start a new business or new friendship or romantic involvement, nor get married or buy a car or other important machinery for your business. Not the day either to invest money or get involved in foreign affairs or overseas interests. Bide your time in all important matters and do not buy a new home today.

Tuesday 29 November: Sun square Uranus. Donˇ¦t count on things going as planned today, for every little hiccup can magnify and throw your life into chaos. Air travel may be disrupted or exceptionally busy and mistakes are likely to occur that interfere with the way you had wanted things to go. Have a plan B ready as more than likely you will need it. Sudden, unexpected events can occur quite rapidly and prevent an easy flow of ideas and plans. Avoid rebellious people and eccentrics as they can play havoc with your routines or your way of life. Someone in power may have their status changed or they suffer an unexpected fall.
