Christmas Time Is Family Time

This month of December has 13 positive planetary alignments compared with only 5 not so great ones, and one that can go either way in its influence.

In chronological order there are various changes in the heavens this month and they are: There will be a new Moon at 20 degrees of Sagittarius on Sunday 12 December; Venus moves into Sagittarius on Friday 17 December; Mercury goes direct on Monday 20 December; the Sun enters Capricorn on Wednesday 22 December; Mars enters Sagittarius on Monday 26 December, and lastly there will be a Full Moon at 5 degrees of Cancer on Monday 27 December.

I made an error in last month’s newsletter and said that Saturn was turning direct, when in fact it is the other way around, Saturn is turning retrograde. Sorry…

Here is what I should have said: Saturn the ruler of time and lessons learned goes retrograde on Monday 8 November for nearly five months. Where there had been can be order, regulations and a stronger hand forcing those to follow the rules, now some people will start running amok, possibly with no sense of where there are going or how to get there. We may not have much stability in the housing market and/or land prices, or it goes through a very sluggish time. Those ambitious ones amongst us, may feel they are getting nowhere or going backwards from their aims. They may have hoped in vain that their plans would take them in leaps and bounds up the corporate ladder. Alas a more propitious time will come for that.

On Sunday 12 December there will be a New Moon at 20 degrees of Sagittarius so people will tend to identify emotionally with their beliefs and opinions, which may come out inappropriately, if people are not careful.

On Friday 17 December Venus enters philosophical Sagittarius and will stay there until 10 January 2005, and this I feel will give some hope towards some peaceful negotiations between some countries, if the energies are manoeuvred and/or desired in this direction. There could be some relationships in the news and weddings occurring between people of different nationalities. I feel that some may travel long distances to be with those they love.

On Monday 20 December Mercury will once again turn direct, so those who are predominantly mercurial by nature will feel the relief of this within a week or so. Mercury will go direct while at 10 degrees of Sagittarius, so if you have any personal points at that degree, some information may come to light regarding the area of life that Mercury rules in your own personal chart. Generally, when Mercury moves back into direct motion things start to pick up speed, especially if they have recently undergone alterations or delays of any kind. Communications get back to normal, people will finally return your phone calls and the fax machine decides to work yet again, finally! Plans that had been put on hold, or holiday arrangements may now seem to flow a little smoother. You can safely trust that your thought processes are once again on track and not as changeable as they have been recently. Generally speaking, if you have been waiting in the wings, and preparing a launch or oth! er new start, now you can put them into action and see them moving with relative speed. Anything you had started prior to the Mercury retrograde phase may have slowed down during this three week phase and this can now be re-ignited or kick started into top gear.

On Wednesday 22 December the Sun will enter Capricorn for one calendar month and this will bring traditional and conservative matters into the forefront of our lives, celebrating the Festive Season is a typical example of that. General business matters will flourish as we go shopping as if there is no tomorrow. We also become more family orientated and do what is considered the norm. I suspect there may be a VIP, or a member of parliament, who experiences some health concern, and in particular, perhaps one of the members of the British Royal family may undergo some crisis or there is a separation of some type associated with one or more members of this family.

On Sunday 26 December Mars will enter Sagittarius for an approximate six week stay. This has the potential to aggravate travel plans (especially long distance ones) and the manifestation of conflict between different cultures. Freedom of action will be a high priority for many and any restraint will meet with angst. Lawyers and the travel industry may have a busier than usual time. Someone in the horse-racing industry may also be under fire, or an accident occurs involving a horse or polo pony. (Ooops I think that last sentence just slipped out and was more psychic than anything else). Those who can harness the positive energies of this sign may see glimpses into the future of any situation and this could prove highly valuable to those who have this gift.

On Monday 27 December there will be a Full Moon with the Sun at 5 degrees Capricorn and the Moon at 5 degrees Cancer. There may be differences of opinions between differing generations and age groups. Some people will make decisions that will prove to be major turning points in their lives.

This month I feel we need to reflect on what Christmas means to us on an individual and collective basis. Members of families are often reunited at this time of year, just to become more intimately involved with one another for perhaps only a few hours. It is important for each and everyone of us to feel we belong to something, whether that be a family, a group or an organisation that unites rather than divides. Christmas is really about families coming together, even though they may have little to do with one another during the rest of the year. I have always felt that if people can put aside their differences for just one day a year, that is better than none. I hope that each any everyone can find something wonderful to celebrate with their own family this year, or with a friend, or neighbour, just to show you care.

For horary enthusiasts, from 17 December and up until 10 January 2005, Venus will be in Sagittarius whilst Jupiter is in Libra. Continuing all month we still observe Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces indicating that they are still in mutual reception.

Now down to the specifics of daily planetary activity.

The favourable days in December 2004 are:

Monday 6 December: (1) Sun sextile Jupiter, and (2) Venus conjunct Mars.

(1) Sun sextile Jupiter: This is a beautiful alignment of the life-giving Sun with expansive Jupiter. It can provide us with the inspiration and faith to get any new endeavour under way with enthusiasm and sincerity of purpose. Open an entertainment centre or have a huge banquet or festival then and it will go off like a rocket to the Moon. This is also a good day to get married, start new friendships and any project involved with gold, glamour or places of amusement or the publishing industry. It is also one of the better kind of planetary times to commence just about anything that is important to you. A new store or business opening today would do well if focussed on books, publishing, the travel industry or to do with the law. If you strive for success on a day like this you are likely to achieve your goal. This is also a good time to start an overseas holiday.

(2) Venus conjunct Mars: Those in the business of selling will have a field day if they use the methods of ‘sex sells’ at this time. The seductive elements between these planets can be wielded on an innocent public who will actually lap it up like a pussycat with a bowl of milk. A good day to get married, engaged, go on a first date or start a business involved in capturing the imagination of those who are interested in what attracts one to another. Items such as perfumes and aftershaves will sell well today, or any other item that lures people to one another.

Sunday 5 December: Sun sextile Neptune. This is one of those days that will seem magical to those who are open and attuned to the cosmic vibrations around them. A positively inspiring day and one that will be long remembered as a day that brings the beautiful side of nature and life to our attention and the recognition that there are great wonders all around us, each and every day, if we just open our eyes and senses. Spend some time relaxing near the ocean and it will soothe your tired or restless soul. Music will be inspirational and those who are gifted in this area may create some magical lyrics or tunes. Opening a store selling musical or artistic products should fare well.

Wednesday 8 December: Retrograde Mercury conjunct Pluto. This is an aspect that can be interpreted as either positive or negative and the energies can swing either way depending on what it is that you are trying to accomplish. A good day to investigate any matter that you need the answer to. Riddles, puzzles and intrigues can be revealed if you pursue with relentless enthusiasm. Travel undertaken today could revolutionise your life and perhaps give you a new purpose or provide ideas on how you can transform yourself or your surroundings. Police will uncover lies or deception on a day like this and perhaps unearth some bodies, remains or relics that had been missing for years. Archaeologists too may discover some long buried artefacts that will reveal some truths or new knowledge that had been well hidden. Use this day to focus on starting or completing something of immense personal importance to you and you will be amazed at your progress.

Friday 10 December: Sun conjunct retrograde Mercury. This aspect makes some people get really focussed mentally while others just get flustered or frazzled by too much grey matter being stimulated. For those who like a fast pace in their daily routine they will sail ahead smoothly and swiftly. The others will have to do it again probably, and then they will get it right. This is called a combust situation, where a planet is so close to the Sun and the Sun can literally burn up the other planet. This can cause a congestion of information on telephone lines, faxes, e-mails and even face to face communications, where one person is just not hearing the other or cannot seem to reach an agreement or get their heads together on the same issue. Postpone any really important negotiations until a better day. Some people will enjoy a day like this and they will not be agitated by the influx of interruptions or extra communications because they will literally thrive on it. At least! they will not have a boring day. The rest of us will be somewhat confused and exhausted by the end of the day and be seeking some quiet time away from the demands of this modern world.

Monday 13 December: Mercury sextile Jupiter. This angle promises those who strive to see the bigger picture will do so and teach those who listen how to find it themselves. A great day to start a holiday or travel to places previously unseen. This could prove to be a great day to start writing a new book, open a book store or one associated with the travel industry. People will generally tend to be liberal and broad-minded in their thinking and approach to life. Also a favourable day to start teaching, lecturing or writing a lengthy project. The area of communications and information will be busy and any business started today that connects with these will fare well. This is a good time for negotiations and for getting your message across. The advertising and news media areas will be highly productive. There could be a merger between two large organisations, companies or countries, that can benefit everyone involved. Expansion is the key-word for the day, so plan to make! this as positive a time as possible. A busy day for the travel industry and the Internet.

Tuesday 14 December: (a) Venus trine Saturn, and (b) retrograde Mercury sextile Neptune. (Please also note that the Sun also conjuncts Pluto today and this is listed in the unhelpful days below).

(a) Venus trine Saturn. This is the type of alignment that suggests a good time for entering into new negotiations, friendships or marriage. New businesses involved in the finance industry, or to do with women’s products and services, florists and perfumes will prosper if you are prepared to stick it out for the long haul. Most long-range plans set in place now will eventually make the grade if there is sufficient energy expended.

(b) Retrograde Mercury sextile Neptune. This is a quite favourable alignment for us fragile human beings, especially if we wish to tune into the cosmos and see what is really there. A brilliant day to tune into the Cosmos for some amazing enlightenment. New publications released today will do well, especially if they can incorporate some measure of mystery into their stories. Starting a new book focussing on the mysteries of the Universe, dreams or psychic phenomena will proceed very well. Travel brochures will be eagerly snapped up today and bookings made for overseas destinations with great enthusiasm. The travel industry in particular will have a busy day moving people from A to B in quick succession.

Monday 20 December: Mars trine Saturn. This can be productive for the automotive industry or any other industry involved with machinery of all types. Those who make long term investments, especially those involving the real estate business will profit from this further down the track. If you can keep your nose to the grindstone, your abilities and efforts will be recognised by those in authority over you. Perseverance, dedication and endurance are the qualities that can be drawn from this alignment so put them to good use while you can. Your energies will be backed up by your determination to plod on until you reach success.

Saturday 25 December: Sun sextile Uranus. This is a very electrical kind of day and one that can bring enormous excitement into people’s lives. Be prepared for the unexpected and the unusual and you will not be disappointed. A great day to go exploring, visit a place you have never been to before, start a new and exciting job or business, especially if it is connected to electronics, the Internet or aviation. Some people will come up with some potentially revolutionary ideas today and inventors will be inspired to bring something new and dazzling to the rest of us. New friendships started today will be very different to what you are used to and could literally turn your life around.

Monday 27 December: Mercury sextile Neptune (repeated again as Mercury now goes direct). This is a quite favourable alignment for us fragile human beings, especially if we wish to tune into the cosmos and see what is really there. If you utilise the themes of the ocean, romantic or magical effects the outcome will be truly fascinating for all those who participate. Musicians, artists and poets will be in their element and thoughts and the imagination flowing freely and inspired by the mystical aspects of the Universe. A good day to open a business focussing on the elements of beauty, flowers, crystals, perfumes and women’s products.

Wednesday 29 December: Mercury conjunct Venus. This tends to incline people towards thoughts of love, harmony and peace. Some will write lengthy declarations of their feelings for the one they adore. Peaceful negotiations are highly likely for those who have the best interests of everyone at heart. A good day to have a celebration, throw a party, go on a special date, get engaged or married. Businesses focussing on communications and the elements of romance will fare well, such as greeting cards offering words of love and friendship. A day of love and poetry and light hearted fun and frivolity. Take time out today to enjoy some lovely music or pleasant scenery and you will be aligning your actions in accord with the romantic and peaceful vibrations of the heavens. Romantic attachments and friendships formed today will be free of jealousy or binding commitments. People will want to be carefree and concerned only with happiness and pleasure.

Thursday 30 December: Venus sextile Jupiter. This is a brilliant day for getting engaged, married or starting a new romance or friendship. Also good for opening a new business, especially if it is connected to women’s products, entertainment, the travel industry or foreign relations. Throwing a lavish party will also meet with success, though could be very costly. Starting a long distance journey, voyage or holiday could put you on a new learning curve and would be highly enjoyable and may result in a new love interest in your life, if you are single and fancy free.

Friday 31 December (New Years Eve): Mercury sextile Jupiter (repeated again from 13 December). This is a highly explosive and accident prone time, so do not start out on any new journey or buy a car today. Try to avoid working with heavy machinery or electrical items as it is likely something will go horribly wrong. Plans will be unsettled and errors likely to arise quite unexpectedly. Take your time if people start to get pushy or forceful. Riots can develop easily so avoid large gatherings or people who are out to start a fight. Do not make any particularly personal decisions today as this could be fraught with problems and dangerous conditions.

Friday 3 December: Venus square Neptune. This unhelpful alignment may lure some people who are planning to mix business with pleasure and this brings about disappointment, loss or other confusion due to outright deception or serious camouflage. It is not the time to commit to a relationship or even a friendship, for there is likely to be something glossed over that hides the real truth or some elementary ugliness. An apparent secure relationship may come unstuck and reveal a trail of dishonesty, treachery and lies. Those who live life on the surface and pretend to be happy will be faced with having to show their dirty washing and even then, there may still be something lurking in their pockets. Check all your facts and any new faces you meet today.

Tuesday 14 December: Sun conjunct Pluto. This is potentially a highly volatile and explosive angle that can erupt from out of nowhere and create chaos and ruin for those who take chances with their lives and their safety. A VIP or other person of high standing may take a fall or be held accountable for some misdeed from their past. Any secrets that are buried may be re-surfaced and exposed for all to see. This will be an ugly time for some, as the underworld elements of this can be exposed and create unpleasant situations for people to try to extract themselves from what they are involved in. Not a good day to buy a car, go into business, get married, engaged or start a new job, friendship or other personal decisions that can reflect on oneself at a later time. Be careful who you associate with and do not trust strangers. Alleyways and dark places should be avoided like the plague. There are however some positive ways that the energies of this alignment can be of use. I! t can help us to change the course of our lives if we make the effort. This can prove to be a great time to try to remake yourself or change your spots, if you need to. A day to spring clean, get rid of the old and outworn and be refreshed by the newness of starting out on a new path. It is possible to start some new enterprise that involves reform or renovation in any way. If you wish to pull down the walls and rebuild them, this is the best time to do it. New relationships formed today, whether friendship or intimate, will literally put your life into a different perspective and possibly change your life forever.

Saturday 18 December: Venus square Uranus. This can throw a spanner in the works or a curve ball your way that you were not anticipating. As this is a not so favourable influence for starting new friendships, relationships of getting married, I would wait for a more opportune blending of heavenly star patterns. If unions are commenced today they may be brief or the person leaves very abruptly with almost no warning. Those who choose today to marry may find themselves in the divorce courts before too long. It is an OK time to have a masquerade party or other social event where people are permitted to let their hair down and be as wild as they wish. Just don’t expect new liaisons to be long-term, nor get involved in financial affairs that have the slightest suggestion of risk.
